New fire and security steering group |

The Electrical Contractors Association has launched its new look fire and security steering group. The Fire and Security Association (FSA) will aim to maintain standards and represent the interests of ECA members in the fire and rescue sectors of the electrotechnical industry by focussing on lobbying, guidance and training. The organisation will be chaired by the current Managing Director of Southern Monitoring Services Ltd, Steve Kimber. He said: "These are very exciting times for the fire and security sector and we look forward to taking our seat around the table at all levels that affect our industry, from government to significant organisations and agencies."
The Electrical Contractors Union has a long history of operating within the industry. It created its specialist section for the fire and rescue sector over 20 years ago, and a significant number of its 2,800 member companies operate in the fire and rescue sector. It has traditionally provided a focus within the electrical industry for several aspects of development, including safety, training, qualification, technological development and industry performance.
