Directory of Emergency Planning PDF Print E-mail
The vital role of efficient and coordinated emergency planning was once again underlined by the floods of 2007 – and by the excellent response shown by fire and rescue organisations in many affected parts of the UK. Later this year a vital new contact resource will be produced by Keyways Publishing, publishers of FIRE magazine, Policing Today and other respected titles, well known in the fields of emergency response and healthcare. Directory of Emergency Planning 2008 will bring together details for all named and responsible officers of every Category One and Two Responder, as well as the national agencies and voluntary teams that are required to work together under the Civil Contingencies Act, 2004. The local agencies identified by the Act are the building blocks of emergency planning and response in the UK – and co-operation between a large number of organisations is fundamental to the safety of the nation and the local community. Keyways has a national reputation for creating contact resources in cooperation with official organisations, including CFOA and ACPO. Following the model set by the UK Police Directory and the UK Fire &Rescue Directory, which are in daily use throughout their respective sectors, the Directory of Emergency Planning 2008 will become an indispensable guide to emergency planning professionals providing detailed listings of national, local and voluntary agencies across the UK including:
• Local authorities
• Police and fire and rescue services
•Ambulance, NHS PCTs and Acute Trusts
•Airports and ports
•Transport organisations and utility companies
•Major industrial companies
•The Army and public health officers
• Emergency planning teams within each UK local authority and the emergency services, grouped by locality
•Over 100 central government departments and national agencies
• Contact details for the main UK charities and voluntary networks
•Armed forces contingency teams
• Listings for major commercial and industrial safety officers.
