Association for Specialist Fire Protection: key partners in Fire Excellence Awards
The Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) will be at International Firex, in Hall 3, at the Birmingham Exhibition Centre, May, 16-19, 2011.
As part of a key partnership arrangement with the exhibition organisers, UBM Live, the ASFP is to construct a dedicated Passive Fire Protection Pavilion and will be key partners in the 2011 Fire Excellence Awards.
The 80 square metre complex will consist of a 30-seat lecture facility with visual aid and sound systems to ensure that the association can present a full four days of free seminars, targeting all aspects of 'built in' passive fire protection (PFP). The complex will also house reception and meeting facilities, as well as a specially constructed wall section to demonstrate the correct and the incorrect ways of installing PFP materials.
If you are responsible for building design, fire risk management, legal liability, or the maintenance of fire protection in buildings, you should consider attending one or more of the informative seminars being presented. Each 20-minute presentation is designed to enlighten delegates to responsibilities with which they may be unfamiliar, and to offer practical solutions.
Recent major fires such as that at Lakanal House, London, have brought into sharp focus the failure of inadequate fire provision to protect life and property. To address these important issues, the ASFP seminars will deal the themes of 'Don't design a disaster', 'The risk relay - are you carrying the baton?' 'What is your defence?' and 'Maintaining their lives and your liberty!'
The ASFP seminars will be supplemented by associated presentations, by ASFP member companies, that will add extra detail to the primary lectures. The ASFP complex will be surrounded by ASFP member stands representing a cross section of the passive fire protection sector.
