titanicPartnerships in Safety; Building safe and just societies will be the title and the focus of a strategic leadership conference taking place in Belfast this summer.
Scheduled immediately prior to the 2013 World Police and Fire Games, the conference will be held in the iconic Titanic Belfast (31st July – 1 August) and is designed for chiefs and senior executives in fire, police and correctional services.

Sponsored by Randox Testing Services, the event will focus on issues that are high on the agenda of all emergency service leaders, including engagement with the community, tackling the threat of cyber terrorism, training and leadership development, private sector delivery of emergency services, drug dependency, increased delivery with reduced resources, and international collaboration. The discussion is intended to identify solutions and facilitate exchanges of best practice.

While many of the issues apply to all emergency services, there will also be dedicated workshops examining successful approaches adopted in fire and rescue, policing and corrections. A key theme is partnership, not just between the public and private sectors, but also between the individual services.

Delegates will also have the opportunity to join a range of pre-conference tours designed to provide a unique insight into Northern Ireland’s troubled past and its shared future. These include a viewing of the Police Memorial Gardens, a visit to the historic Maze/Long Kesh prison site and a tour of the Legal Quarter in central Belfast.

The programme includes a drinks reception hosted by Invest Northern Ireland on the evening of 30 July, and a gala dinner on Wednesday 31 July. In addition, a trade exhibition will run for the duration of the conference.
A discounted price for the conference of £250 + VAT is available for the first 100 delegates. For more information and to register visit www.event-ful.co.uk/wpfg
