A team of 14 East Sussex firefighters and support team will start a fundraising event that will take them on a journey of over 1,000 miles on 6 scooters wearing their familiar bright orange fire kit.

The firefighters will be visiting all four countries of the British Isles in four days starting May 26th, 2012. Green Watch from Eastbourne Community Fire Station decided to undertake a 'long way round' style charity scooter ride. They decided to make the challenge even harder by using scooters instead of their usual more powerful motorcycles.

The charities that will be benefitting from the event will be The Fire Fighters Charity and Clic Sargent, which looks after children who are suffering with cancer and leukaemia.
