Firefighters from Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service visited Buckingham Hospital to present patients with three wheelchairs and two walkers purchased with money from a charity ball organised by the Service last year.
This special equipment will be used by patients in the physiotherapy unit and the hospital's locality manager Gilian Gibbs said: "It is so nice to receive support from another organisation in the community. We are very grateful for this equipment, which will be put to use daily."
The ball took place at Villiers Hotel's Old Town Hall in Buckingham, and attracted 150 people who helped raise a total of just over £5,000 which was split equally between The Fire Fighters Charity and Buckingham Hospital's League of Friends.
Watch Manager John Robinson from Buckingham Fire Station said: "The success of the ball was due to the massive support of the local community and businesses. It was a great feeling to see everyone enjoying themselves, and even better to be able to raise so much for charity."
