Charity receives £1,500 from vehicle tracking business
Ctrack has successfully raised substantial funds for Leeds' Teaching Hospitals Charitable Foundation following a prize draw.
The money will be used to buy equipment for six new firefighters that have joined the Helipad Fire Response Team at Leeds General Infirmary. More than 100 employees based at Ctrack's Leeds-based head office and from around the UK, entered into the festive spirit by snapping up all available tickets at the company's Christmas party to support the charity and have a chance to win a wide range of prizes. Members of the Helipad Fire Response Team also offered their support by joining in the festivities to help raise awareness of the cause.
Earlier this year Ctrack committed to raising at least £5,000 to help expand the NHS-certified Helipad Fire Response Team. The 15-person team was originally set up in 1997 and works alongside the Air Ambulance community providing vital aviation support for road traffic accidents, industrial trauma and sporting injuries. Ctrack aims to supply all the required equipment such as protective suits, boots and helmets for the six new members by organising a series of fundraising events.
Tom O'Connor, Managing Director of Ctrack commented: "The Helipad Fire Response Team at Leeds General Infirmary provides an invaluable service to the region and richly deserve our support for the wonderful job they do. To date we have now raised more than £2,000, so we are well on the way to achieving our initial target."
"In addition to the prize draw, the company has also donated to the appeal instead of buying Christmas cards this year, whilst some of our employees have been involved in selling calendars and organising a cake stall to raise additional money. I would like to thank all our employees for their generosity and efforts, which is helping fund such an important service."
Everyone at Ctrack would like to thank the following Leeds and UK based companies and organisations for providing prizes and their support: Leeds United FC, Metro Buses, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Chevin Country Park Hotel & Spa, Bewleys Hotel, Radisson Blu, Park Plaza, West Yorkshire Police, The Verve Restaurant at the Village Hotel, The Wardrobe Restaurant, Sous Le Nez en Ville Restaurant, Tiger Tiger, Alea Casino, Zest @ Eclipse, Noblet Municipal (Preston), Go Ape (Birmingham) and Christopher Ward Watches (London).
