Cleveland Fire Brigade team up with Age UK to offer advice on staying cool
Cleveland Fire Brigade, in partnership with Age UK Teesside, are to hold a drop-in event aimed at helping people stay cool and hydrated in hot weather.
The event is open for members of the public who are aged 50 plus and will take place on Thursday 19th July between 10.00am and 3.00pm at Age UK, 100 York Road, Hartlepool.
Fire Brigade and Age UK staff will be on hand to offer hints and tips on staying cool, there will be healthy recipe booklets available and smoothies being served.
Barbara Lyle, Campaign Coordinator for Cleveland Fire Brigade said: "As we get older it gets harder for our body to control its temperature whether it staying cool in the summer or warm in the winter.
"We are holding this event to raise awareness and offer helpful advice on staying cool as well as being healthy. We welcome anyone over the age of 50 to come along and see what we have to offer."
