ShelterBox, the charity which offers shelter and basic equipment to those affected by disaster, is appealing for help.

The charity has made the following appeal:

Every year 35 million people across the world have to abandon their homes when disasters strike. Through no fault of their own and often with no warning, families lose their homes, their possessions and their livelihoods. Every day they are faced with a battle for survival while they try to rebuild their lives.

From the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami to the 2010 Haiti earthquake, we have responded to some of the largest disasters the modern world has ever known. In recent weeks, ShelterBox has deployed assessment and response teams to Ethiopia, Kenya, South Sudan, Libya, the Philippines, South Korea and Senegal - delivering aid to people whose lives have been torn apart by drought, flooding or conflict.

We urgently appeal for your support to help us provide shelter, warmth and dignity to even more families around the world who have lost everything.

Donations to this appeal will be used to support all of our work. Our experience of working with people in emergency situations around the world means we can allocate our resources in the most effective ways possible and therefore use your donation wherever the need is greatest.

To make a donation call: 0300 0300 500.
