The Emergency Services Show 2012 is just around the corner and it is guaranteed to provide visitors with plenty to see and do over the two days. Following the success of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the ongoing budget cuts and the publication of the new Fire and Rescue National Framework, the importance of collaboration and interoperability between the blue light services and voluntary organisations is top of the agenda once again. In recognition of this, the JESIP National Interoperability Summit will be held at this year's The Emergency Services Show in November.

JESIP National Interoperability Summit

Following the establishment of the Joint Emergency Services Interoperability Programme (JESIP) CFOA, AACE and ACPO will be bringing together leaders and strategic managers from UK Cat 1 & 2 responders at the first ever high profile national summit addressing this critically important topic. Running from midday on Wednesday 21 November to midday Thursday 22 November, topics will cover:

• Government aims and priorities with input from the Home Office and the Civil Contingencies Secretariat
• An overview of JESIP to explain its structure and work programme
• Views from ACPO, CFOA and AACE
• An Olympics de-brief providing a view of how the UK managed the world's largest sporting event

The Show

The Emergency Services Show 2012 is an ideal platform for fire and rescue professionals to share experiences and learn from other emergency professionals. Networking and collaboration with suppliers, colleagues and contemporaries is essential as budget cuts, innovations in technology and ever changing threats influence the role of the emergency services. The show offers emergency services professionals an opportunity to discover the latest innovations in vehicles, training and equipment and to network with colleagues and contemporaries in operations, procurement, training, recruitment, emergency planning and business continuity.

There will be a range of suppliers exhibiting at the show demonstrating their latest innovations and developments and to talk about cost saving initiatives. New exhibitors for 2012 include Mecmesin, Explosive Learning Solutions, DuPont, Cosalt, Haagen, Safety Components, Oculus Systems and Bullard.

The Emergency Response Zone features exhibitors from fire and rescue, police, ambulance, government and voluntary organisations from around the UK, demonstrating the capabilities of partnering agencies and the voluntary sector - an ideal opportunity to discuss interoperability.
