ntuThis news summary is produced annually in order to provide a range of updates on ESRU activities with the Emergency Services.

The Emergency Services Research Unit was established almost a decade ago in the Division of Psychology at Nottingham Trent University. From that initial psychological focus their interests, and membership, have grown substantially diversifying into many other disciplines and cross-disciplinary areas incuding the emergency services.

Their mission is to conduct high quality research into the issues faced by the emergency services, their personnel and by all those who are affected by emergencies. Their message to the emergency services is “Bring us your problems” and if and when you do then ESRU will find ways to help you with these through the conduction and application of high quality research in order to provide solutions and an evidence base for future policy actions.
