Venue: One Great George Street

One Great George Street is the headquarters of the Institution of Civil Engineers; the world’s first professional engineering body. Located just off Parliament Square, its glass-domed, Grade II listed Edwardian building is filled with rich, neo-Palladian and Baroque interiors, and is just a stone’s throw away from the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace and St James’s Park.

Drinks will served in the historic Brunel, Council and Smeaton State Rooms with ornate wood panelling, period features and artwork reflecting prominent civil engineers.

The lunch and EFE awards ceremony will be held in the magnificent Great Hall which is adorned with marbled columned walls, ornate gold leaf, a stunning painted ceiling and crystal chandeliers.

Many notable and historic special events have taken place in the Great Hall including the signing of the charter establishing UNESCO in 1945, and His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh sat in this room to take his Royal Navy examinations. It is a truly impressive space in which to celebrate success and innovation in the Fire and Emergency Services.
