Firefighters are not risk averse says senior fire officer
Speaking today at the Risk Versus Results Roadshow in Manchester, Bill Gough spoke out against the supposed creeping culture of risk aversion within the Fire and Rescue Service.
"It's firefighters not their second response managers and commanders that are stuck between a rock and a hard place," Bill Gough told delegates at the latest FIRE Roadshow, supported by W.L. Gore and Associates. Mr Gough went on to say that firefighters are "dammed by the rule makers if they do apply common sense and dammed if they don't."
