Intended for Fire Engineers, Fire Consultants, Fire Safety Officers, Building Control Officers and other similar Fire Safety professionals, the IFE South East Branch's one day event in September will develop a greater understanding of Fire doors, the importance of qualified inspectors, the significance of the RRO and the articles relating to Fire Doors within the Fire safety Order.

Speakers include:
Danny White - Danny has been with Gerda for 17 ½ years dealing extensively on fire doors for both residential and communal areas. He is frequently asked to provide guidance on what the risk assessments mean, and also to provide detailed reports on the state of doors to see if they are compliant or not.
Peter Jackman - Chairman and Technical Director of International Fire Consultants and the IFC Group. Peter is a UK expert on several International & National Fire Safety committees and the UK expert on fire
testing and resistance to CEN and ISO. Peter is the lead author of the BS476: Part 20: 1987 series of fire resistance test methods, and the author of BS8214 on fire doors.
Neil Ashdown - Initially starting his career in the timber and joinery industry and specializing in Fire Doors, Neil founded a Fire Door manufacturing company in 2003 working within the scope of the BWF Certifier third party certification scheme. He established the company’s quality management system to ISO 9001 certificated by Warrington Certification. In 2012 he joined the Fire Door Inspection Scheme as General Manager working to provide education on the subject of fire doors and to increase awareness of the need for suitable inspection and maintenance of fire doors by competent persons in accordance with the
requirements of the Fire Safety Order and BS9999
Ashley Palmer - After completing A-Levels in Biology, Physics and Chemistry from Hull Grammar School, Ashley undertook a Law Degree from The University of Hull Law School achieving a 2:1. After continuing to practice in law in Manchester and obtaining a Masters degree in Informatics with a major in IT Law and E-Commerce law from The University of Manchester Ashley changed careers by joining a construction firm and eventually qualifying as a bench joiner. Ashley has specialised in the manufacture and supply of fire doors for the last 5 years and after the announcement of the first European wide recognised fire door qualification Ashley was one of the first in the country to undertake and pass this qualification and is now certified as a fire door professional due to the Diploma in Fire Doors qualification he has taken.
