This 2015 Awards are going global with the inclusion of a new category reaching out to fire professionals around the world. The ‘International Fire Professional of the Year’ award is being sponsored by the Institution of Fire Engineers.
This follows the announcement of another new category, the ‘Emergency Services Partnership of the Year’ award sponsored by Emergency Services Times. The awards are in only their second year but are emerging as the prominent event recognising multiagency partnership working across the emergency services and industry.
To be held at One Great George Street, Westminster on December 4, the event is run by FIRE magazine in association with headline sponsor Babcock. FIRE’s
Emergency Services Director Tony Greville said of the growing awards ceremony: “We have a bigger and even better event than last year planned for you. Our aim is to grow the awards in its second year with more categories, more entries and a bigger ceremony.”
The prestigious judging panel includes Peter Holland, Chief Fire and Rescue Advisor; Neil O’Connor, Director for Fire, Resilience and Emergencies at the Department for Communities and Local Government; Steve Hamm, International President of the Institution of Fire Engineers; and Paul Hancock, President- Elect of the Chief Fire Officers Association.
The criteria for the ‘International Fire Professional of the Year’ entry is that the ‘winner will have demonstrated the highest level of professionalism, making an individual contribution that has advanced safety from fire, internationally’.
