The Midlands Branch has a membership roll of 350 throughout the Midlands which covers an area that stretches from Herefordshire in the south right through to the Cheshire borders of Staffordshire in the north; and from the Shropshire borders of Wales in the west to the Leicestershire/Derbyshire borders in the east.

For two years now the Branch Committee has been striving to provide a programme of events that would appeal to all Branch members no matter what their Fire Engineering background, experience or discipline. We are not only anxious that we may not be providing a programme that meets the demands or requirements of members, we are also mindful that the requirement to provide evidence of continuing professional development is becoming more important. The Branch Committee would like to hear from Midlands Branch members to find out not only what their expectations are from our annual programme of events but also from the officers of the Branch.

We will soon be notifying members of our Annual General Meeting where we intend to launch our 3 year plan which will built on four core principles:
Engage - Branch Membership.
Support - identified membership needs.
Improve - member numbers and participation in Branch activities.
Develop - partnerships with new and existing Affiliate organisations.

I can assure you that our energies are and will continue to be, focussed on the needs of the Branch Members. With this in mind we would very much like to hear what you think and include your thoughts, views and expectations in the plan. I am therefore asking that you take some time to consider what you would like us to include in what is after all, your CPD and events programme. More importantly what you would expect from us in future years.

We are also keen to hear from possible speakers and also those working for larger companies or organisations who may be able to provide CPD meeting venues for the Branch.
