Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service and Libraries NI have signed a new agreement to help protect the principality's heritage.

The aim of the agreement is to enhance emergency response and planning between NIFRS and Libraries NI with a focus on the salvaging of historically important collections of books and manuscripts during an emergency incident.

This agreement is part of a suite of arrangements currently in place between NIFRS and the wider heritage sector in Northern Ireland to help protect historically significant archives, historic buildings and artefacts.
