This year's Fire Fighters Charity Spirit of Fire Awards will take place in London on Friday 19 October and nominations for the ten awards are now open.

The awards give the UK's fire and rescue service a unique opportunity to reward colleagues, friends, family and members of the public who have demonstrated bravery within the fire community and outstanding dedication to The Fire Fighters Charity.

This year sees a new award - The Fire Fighters Charity Best Newcomer of the Year, which will go to a serving service member who has shown exceptional commitment in a newly undertaken supporter or volunteer role for The Fire Fighters Charity.

Awards are available for individuals or team within the fire and rescue service, an individual fire station, brigade, or a volunteer fundraiser for The Fire Fighters Charity.

Also new for this year, detailed judging criteria is available for each of the award categories on the charity's website and you can download guidelines to help you demonstrate the strength of your nomination.
