firedoorThe Association for Specialist Fire Protection has announced it will be holding the next in its series of regional CPD seminars at the Hampshire Fire and Rescue Headquarters on September 16.

Held during the British Woodworking Federation’s Fire Door Safety Week, the Association for Specialist Fire Protection’s (ASFP) event will provide
essential advice on all aspects of passive fire protection; its specification, installation, inspection and maintenance.

The event aims to improve awareness of passive fire protection. Called Understanding Passive Fire Protection, this seminar offers presentations from technical experts from across the fire sector covering all aspects of passive fire protection, including the role of fire doors, frames and fire seals; door hardware maintenance and replacement; fire-resistant glazing; fire ducts and dampers; structural fire protection; compartment wall penetrations and fire stopping.

Fire Door Safety Week, which takes place from September 14-20, aims to raise awareness of the critical role of fire doors, drawing attention to specific issues such as poor installation and maintenance.
