Public say in possible Sussex merger
Fire and rescue services in East and West Sussex are continuing to consult with the public about their views on the proposed merger.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service and West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service could potentially be combined to create a new Sussex Fire Authority, responsible for East Sussex, West Sussex and the City of Brighton and Hove.
The 12-week public consultation period is open until October 6th. During this process, local people will be given the opportunity to discuss the issues.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service will be holding public meetings on Thursday September 1st at Eastbourne Town Hall and Tuesday September 6th at the Jubilee Library, Brighton, where members of the public will have the opportunity to meet the Chief Fire Officer and discuss the possible merger.
