What's going on in 2022?

Expertise & Guidance Theatre will bring to visitors the chance to hear from an exceptional line-up of speakers presenting on and debating critical topics in the fire safety sector. Tuesday will be all about building safety. We hear from the new Building Safety Regulator’s office to understand how the industry can embrace systemic culture change to safety and get to grips with how the digitisation of fire safety can support achieving the golden thread of information principles. On Wednesday, we’ll be exploring the latest in fire safety innovation and technology with an expert panel debating the benefits and challenges of embracing IoT. A new fire alarm standard is exclusively launched, and evacuation alert system technology is explained. Rounding it all on Thursday will be a deep dive into the latest legislative updates and how they affect fire safety professionals, changes to competency standards and a look ahead at what’s next for the fire industry with a panel of leading specialists.

Engineers of Tomorrow competition takes place at IFSEC & FIREX this year. Winners of regional heats compete in a live installation challenge at the show. The competition involves two separate areas – one for electronic security systems and the other for fire systems. Apprentice finalists will get the chance to show off their skills in front of thousands of peers and professionals from the security and fire sectors.

IFSEC & FIREX Training, a live installer training, comes for the first time to IFSEC & FIREX to support efforts to raise competency and close the skills gap in security and fire. Installers, integrators and engineers will be able to attend accredited and in-depth training sessions from a mix of training providers and expert vendors on topics such as video surveillance, access control, fire alarm systems and plenty more.

And, for 2022, FIREX has taken the decision to fully commit to supporting and promoting third-party approvals, independent accreditation and competency for construction products and services.
