The Fire Fighters Charity proves best place to work
The Fire Fighters Charity has once again made it into the top 100 of The Sunday Times Best Not-For-Profit Organisations list.
Each year Best Companies and The Sunday Times celebrate the best small, mid-size, and big workplaces in the UK. The 2012 Sunday Times Best Companies and Best Not-For-Profit Organisations to Work For lists featured in a special supplement on Sunday 11th March.
The Sunday Times article stated: 'The Fire Fighters Charity brought in a whistleblowing hotline last year to allow its 189 employees to raise any concerns confidentially. Job-sharing and part-time or reduced hours are among the flexible working options and staff gave a 59% positive score, the third best on our small list'.
Ken Seager, Chairman of The Fire Fighters Charity, told FIRE: "We should all feel truly proud that our Charity is recognised as one of top 100 best not-for-profit organisations to work for. Achieving this prestigious accolade is clear testament to our efforts in building an exceptional work place and an engaged workforce, as it is based purely on the feedback from our own staff via a rigorous survey process.
"Being a 'Best Place to Work' confirms that each of us, whatever we do, is committed to being the best we can possibly be. It adds real value to our recruitment and retention process as an attractive employer and also says a lot about our Charity's values and our shared vision.
"Importantly, we put our people and our beneficiaries at the very heart of everything we do. By doing so, we have made ourselves into a committed high-performing team who passionately believe in the Charity's vision to make a positive difference by supporting people in the fire and rescue community when they are in need.
"By ensuring that we are an efficient and effective organisation, we will continue to set a high standard and develop our services. Looking ahead, our intention is to provide even higher quality services to more people and to provide a greater spread of services including psychological support.
"May I congratulate and thank everyone at The Fire Fighters Charity for their effort, dedication, and successes over the past year. As your Chairman, I have high expectations for further development in the next 12 months, but I have every confidence that our talented workforce will rise to the challenges ahead, as one of the top 100 Best Not-For-Profit Organisations."
