“Great progress” with prevention resources
The National Fire Chiefs Council reports that Autumn 2021 has been very busy for the NFCC’s Prevention Programme, with a series of regional workshops providing a platform to announce some exciting new NFCC products, guidance and initiatives.

The new Online Home Fire Safety Check (OHFSC) is a person-centred approach to the Home Fire Safety Visit. The user-friendly resource has been developed following a successful pilot study in collaboration with Fire Kills and Safelincs under the NFCC’s Prevention Programme.
The OHFSC complements the framework that underpins the work of virtual and face-to-face Home Fire Safety Visits, and delivers a product available to households who may not reach the threshold for a physical visit, or to be used when and where physical visits are restricted or not possible. It has been designed to provide a self-assessment of fire risk for individuals that may have low or medium fire risk.
